This innovative unit teaches teens essential
communication and conflict management skills
that they can use in all their relationships
– now and for years to come. In seven
enlightening lessons, teens learn to notice
the patterns that can damage relationships
and discover how to reduce those patterns.
Teens practice ways to exit escalating
arguments, to raise complaints more
effectively, and to counter the “filters”
that hinder clear communication.
Other topics include a simple technique for
repairing relationships after a fight as
well as for talking about difficult issues.
The material shows students how to handle
issues that “push their buttons.” Finally,
they experience a powerful but simple model
for problem solving.
The beauty of this program is that it is
research-based, and transferable to all
their interactions - with friends, family,
and other peers.
